Hello Everyone,
For our fifth Kimono Jack meet up we went to Cadbury World in Birmingham. Can anyone imagine a better combination than kimono and chocolate? I sure can't :) We saw chocolate through the ages and chocolate in 19th century London, as well as got to see how chocolate is decorated and even got to try some. At the end of Cadbury World tour we got ourselves some nice chocolate to take home.
After Cadbury World we went out for lunch and a nice chat. :)
Next Kimono de Jack event will be at Manchester Antique Textile Fair on March 6, 2010.

January 2010 Kimono Jack in London
Hello Everyone,
This weekend we had our 4th Kimono Jack in UK, the first one in 2011. This time we choose to meet up at the Barbican Art Gallery in London to check out the 30 Years of Japanese Fashion exhibition.
This time we had 5 people who attended, and one of them even came all the way from Leeds! We were very excited to meet her and hope to see her at our future Kimono Jack events. Sadly she wasn't able to wear kimono, but there is always a next time as I like to say.
It was a lot colder than we expected but lots of fun nonetheless!
Our next Kimono Jack will be in Birmingham on February 19th. We will be going to Cadbury World to embrace our inner child and enjoy some chocolate.

The exhibition looks very interesting and I am looking forward to attending.

Please note that this is a ticketed event, so you will have to purchase a ticket yourself.

We will be meeting at Liverpool Tube station at 11am and then going to Barbican. You can either meet us there, or go straight to Barbican but we will arrive a little later.

Happy New Year everyone!
2010 was a special year for Kimono de Jack in UK. Back in September, when I first go the idea that we in UK should also have Kimono Jack events I never realized that it will be met with such a support from everyone. Thank you!
Since the first Kimono Jack in London we had 2 more successful meet-ups, one in London and one in Birmingham. We even met new kimono enthusiasts that became a part in our small (for now) kimono group in UK. And 2011 is promising to be even better for Kimono Jack! We already have several meet ups lined up for months ahead. Stay tuned and visit this blog or our Facebook page for updates.
2011 here we come! May it be everything for you that 2010 failed to be!

Third Kimono Jack in UK
Hello everyone,
I can't believe that this past weekend we had our THIRD Kimono Jack event in UK! You might ask where are the photos from our SECOND Kimono Jack, and I will tell you that this past few weeks I've been slacking significantly.... so I promise to be a good organizer and post them very soon.
This time the road took us to Birmingham for their annual Christmas Frankfurt Market. We walked around, had some German sausage, I had a nice cup of mulled wine, and generally had lots and lots of fun.
We even had few new people join in. I'm hoping we will see these ladies again at the future KDJ events.
One of the wonderful things about Christmas Markets is that we get to try a lot of different foods. These here are Dutch pancakes.
The January KDJ will be held in London on January 22nd. We have not worked out the details as to where to meet and what to do, but I will update as soon as I know.
